In order to meet new health and safety regulations and to create new prospects for revenue production, clubs have recently moved to new stadiums in a variety of sports, but particularly in professional soccer in the UK. New places that have an impact on the power dynamics between stadium owners, managers, and sports fans emerge as a result of the relocation of stadiums. The changing nature of power relations in brand-new stadiums is only partially understood by existing studies. This essay explores the power structures and available resources in the dynamic new stadium venues. A case study of the London-based Arsenal Football Club and the "Arsenalization" process in the team's new stadium demonstrates how fans use physical and virtual places to oppose, confirm, and negotiate.stadium managers' methods and tools for regulating their operations.
